David Holek was a terrific trainer for my 15 year old son Eli. We did the 12 session package and David always showed up on time, ready to work, and excited to encourage my son for the training. Eli thought he was really helpful in getting his body toned, showing him how to do the exercises, pushing him enough but never too much that it made it not fun anymore. he also tolerated the chaos of our home and was very patient with the whole family. My healthy life journey began in March 2019, and at first only included keeping a food journal. I added walking in July, then started training with David Holek in August. My life has changed so much! I lost 36 pounds, was able to decrease medication, and I feel and look better than ever! My training sessions with David keep me focused and working toward my goals! He answers my questions and adjusts training to provide me the biggest benefits. His newsletters keep me pumped and remind me that he’s always available. David is one of my biggest cheerleaders, and his Focused Training has greatly impacted my health and my life!

I weathered chemo really well because Dave had made me fit before illness knocked me down. After my mastectomy, however, I was a mess. I couldn’t lift my arms or even stand up straight. It was only Dave that I trusted to take me out on my first walk. Just 2 blocks was all I could manage. Looking back now, it seems a miracle I’m lifting weights again. I have nerve-damage that my oncology team thought likely would limit me. It hasn’t. And my oncologist agrees it has everything to do with getting moving again. Dave adjusted my previously badass workouts to almost laughably basic workouts. And I made steady progress. The nerve damage was minimized because I worked out when most people would’ve thrown in the towel and used prescriptions to manage. I felt pretty badass getting fit with Dave before cancer. Post cancer, I KNOW I’m a badass. But I never would’ve done it without Dave. I needed guidance, I needed encouragement, and I really, really needed his positive attitude. He’s a great trainer and a truly, truly good man.

Training with Dave has made me incredibly strong. I easily change the Hinckley and Schmitt awkward-*ss water bottle and throw 50 lb bags of dog food over my shoulder…both things I had to ask for help with before. It feels really good to be strong.

Working out with Dave has been such an amazing investment towards my health. For years I have used the gym on my own, and finally felt like I was ready to get serious about myself. Working with Dave as a personal trainer, I have learned how to use the whole gym. I’ve reached my ideal fitness and created new personal goals. Dave has held me accountable towards my health, and since working together over the years, I have also quit smoking, completed my first marathon, and eat more nutritious meals. Totally recommend Dave for anyone interested in making positive life changes.

Competent, professional, caring, encouraging trainer who assessed my needs and developed a plan that allowed me to increase my mobility, enhance my weight loss, and increase my strength. David made working out fun. I highly recommend him for any age level.

I am 68 years old and for most of those years was active but never formally worked out. I met David a few months before COVID because my doctor recommended I do weight training to help with my osteoporosis. David is very skilled at customizing workouts to meet you where you are and to meet your specific needs and goals. My core strength, arm and leg strength, and balance are very much improved. I can feel the difference in the ways I move and in my endurance. I do cardio work separately but could have done this with him if I wanted. We have generally met online which works well for me. When I am out of town I can still work out and keep to this way of taking care of myself. We meet in person now and then which helps David keep an eye on my form so I don’t ever hurt myself. I know he works with all age groups, with a wide range of goals. If you are thinking of trying someone for personal training I would very highly recommend him. If you are an older person and a little wary, give him a try. I promise he can start where you are and be patient and supportive in helping you with whatever goals you have. You won’t feel embarrassed or like you are disappointing him. He is very kind, very supportive and very skilled.
